About Tann Synchronome
Our journey: bell ringers since 1962
Tann Synchronome moved into fire alarm systems in 1962, but the company dates back to the 1800s. Its parent companies were Synchronome of London, a clockmaker, and John Tann safe-makers.
As a fire alarm company, Tann Synchronome became the second largest manufacturer in the UK. In the 80s, it produced the Vigilant, the first British analogue addressable fire alarm system. Over the next 20 years, it would pass through the hands of industry leaders Tunstall Security and Menvier, until a management buyout in 1999.
